Alex Raz is 15 yrs old, & plays lead guitar for the Cleveland band Recess, he has been playing guitar since the age of 4. Yahoo.com featured Recess at the top of it's front page in 2009, the video for Separate Ways received over 700,000 views in 1 week. (Now teaching guitar lessons via Skype, very reasonable rates! Handful of students doing well- email steve_razz@yahoo.com to sign up).
The video was a hit all over the world. Recess are currently recording a CD, and recently auditioned privately for the producer's of America's Got Talent. The band will find out in April if they have made it for the taped audition in front of the judges (audition went very well!)
Alex performed the Star Spangled Banner at the Cavs game at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland vs Phoenix Suns on March 25th, 2012. There is a video of the performance, as well as timeline of all Alex's video's from age 9 up to age 15 on his youtube page (link below). The video's on top are the most recent, and again go back to when he was as early as 9 years old. Alex has also played the Star Spangled Banner for the Cleveland Indians, and at age 11 performed the anthem at the Quicken Loans Arena for the MAC Men's & Women's finals game, video's of the performance also are on youtube site. Alex recently picked up an endorsement from www.tonerite.com

At age 12 he won the Cleveland Cavaliers Top Talent contest on November 17, 2009 at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland. He played Van Halen's Eruption between timeouts during the game to win the contest, then sang & played Sweet Child O Mine by GNR at halftime for over 20,000 fans. Played at BB King's in NYC for the Jimi Hendrix Tribute show Nov 2010. And to end 2010, opened for Rick Derringer & Pat Travers Band on New Year's Eve in Columbus.
Also September 2012 Alex's band Velocity opened for veteran guitarist Mike Keneally.
